The Virtual Item Groups tab lets you configure virtual item groups and virtual item columns in this interface. A check box is available to set the state to either retain grouped virtual item links or not when updating, copying or revising documents.

1. If retain value is turned on, update the related grouped virtual items based on the Excel column value with the following behavior:
   • Blank – do nothing
   • Has data – the grouped virtual item (based on virtual item group and virtual item detail) is added to the given document
   • Not mapped – do nothing.
2. If retain value is turned off, first remove all the grouped virtual items and then for those mapped items, based on the Excel column value execute the following behavior:
   • Blank – do nothing
   • Has data – add the given grouped virtual item to the given document.
   Note: Find the latest revision of the grouped virtual item with the given virtual item code or description, and use that grouped virtual item to link the document.
